Steven Williamson, PhD

Steven Williamson is a long-time resident of Smith Hill in Providence. He has a history of community involvement and activism dating back to ACT UP Boston in the early 1990s. He helped to found Project Weber in Providence and served on the board that oversaw the merger that created Project Weber/RENEW. He currently works at the RI Department of Health and teaches part time at the University of Rhode Island. Steven earned a PhD in Political Science from the University of Connecticut where his dissertation research focused on the Ngöbe people and their relationship with the national government.Â
